How we check who is behind a business, review their documents, and handle completion and payment.
ID and business verification
WorkTown uses ID verification to check the identity of the person behind a business account. We also review submitted business documents, including registration, insurance, and licences.
Each business’s profile shows the verification badges it has earned, alongside its services, work, and customer reviews. Each badge refers to a specific completed check; ID verification and document reviews are separate checks.
Booking details and messages
Confirm the scope, price, time, and any special instructions in WorkTown. Keeping messages with the job gives the customer and business a shared record if a question comes up later.
See what was completed
Completion notes and photos give customers a way to review the work. Where a job uses a checklist, required steps and evidence must be completed before it can be submitted as finished.
Payment Protection
On supported jobs paid through WorkTown, payment is collected or authorized before the work. After completion is submitted, the customer can confirm or report a problem. Funds become eligible for release under the job’s completion, review, cancellation, and dispute rules.
If the customer does not respond, the job follows its review deadline and eligibility checks. Release does not mean the money reaches a bank account immediately. Cash, e-transfer, and other payments collected outside WorkTown do not use this hold and release flow.
Report an issue from the booking and include a clear description and relevant photos. You can also contact support@worktown.app for help with your account or booking.
